Ode to Spring is a homage to spring. After the dread of winter the myriad colors of Spring is unreal as in this painting. However, for the gardener and a nature lover it is a sure sign of the pageantry of spring. It is to be seen to be believed. The sharp and intense colors of the early shoots, blooms and leaf buds are awe inspiring. They slowly mature to more subtle colors in the summer. I have enjoyed painting this with my friend and teacher Cecilia Brendel. Hope you like it too!
